We advise you wash your new nappies 3-4 times before using them to ensure maximum absorbency.
Storing dirty nappies - simply put the wet nappies and rinsed soiled nappies in a dry lidded bucket until you are ready to wash them. If you prefer, nappies can be soaked.
Washing nappies - 40 degrees and less than your usual amount of washing powder is usually sufficent and recommended. A hot wash cycle at 60 degrees (or above) will thermally disinfect your nappies and can be used when needed. Nappies can be washed at higher temperatures if you wish but boiling will reduce the life of the nappy so is not recommended. Do not use fabric conditioner as it will reduce the absorbancy of nappies.
Drying nappies - sunshine freshens and naturally bleaches nappies, or alternatively hang out to dry indoors. Most nappies can be tumble dried although this can reduce their life expectancy.
Wraps - can either be washed with your nappies or with ordinary washing. Our wraps can be washed up to 60 degrees, but lower temperatures are sufficent, always check manufacturers instructions. Air dry wraps away from direct heat as tumble drying and radiator drying will reduce their life expectancy.
